North Notts CAMRA Pub of the Year (POTY) Rules.
North Notts CAMRA members are able to vote each year for a Town Pub of the Year and a Village Pub of the Year.
The Town POTY and the Village POTY will contest the Branch Pub of the Year and this will be decided on the Beer Scoring for the two pubs from CAMRA's NBSS over the year since the previous POTY and this process to be overseen by the Branch Committee.
The Town POTY and the Village POTY will automatically qualify for Good Beer Guide entry (GBG rules applying).
The POTY presentation dates to be also announced at the next North Notts CAMRA branch meeting or North Notts CAMRA committee meeting and the presentation dates to be added to the Social Events calendar.
Administration
1. The POTY voting to be administered by a person chosen by North Notts CAMRA. The person has to be a North Notts CAMRA member, be able to check the CAMRA membership and be able to comply with GDPR.
2. Voting information will be sent out to North Notts CAMRA members via the Comms Tool email system for the POTY voting.
3. The voting information will include a voting link for members to click on to, follow the instructions and register their votes and also the opening and closing dates of the voting.
4. Alternatively votes can be sent to the POTY administrator in writing or by a system or systems stated by the administrator (eg online, by email, text) or votes can be given in writing to the administrator or any North Notts CAMRA branch committee member.
5. On the completion of voting the POTY result to be verified by the Branch Chair or his/her representative before being announced.
6. Members to be informed of the POTY results via the comms tool email system and the results to be announced at the GBG meeting or the next North Notts Branch meeting or North Notts Committee meeting.
Pubs
1. To be eligible
a. Pubs must be in the North Notts CAMRA Branch area.
b. Pubs must have been open for a minimum of 6 months before the voting closing date.
c. Pubs must have been under the same ownership for 6 months before the voting closing date.
d. If a pub is in dispute with the Branch or with Branch members the Branch committee will decide if the pub be allowed in the POTY voting.
2. Pubs situated in the town boundaries will be eligible for the Town POTY and pubs situated in the villages and the county side will be eligible for the Village POTY.
Voting
1. A person voting must be a North Notts CAMRA Branch member, supply his/her name and membership number and each person can only vote once for that year for each POTY category . If a member votes for a pub that does not qualify the vote will not count and the person can vote again for a different pub.
2. Members' identities on voting will be not be disclosed and the voting list will not be kept any longer than necessary.
3. POTY voting to close before the Good Beer Guide entries meeting and to be open for a minimum of 4 weeks if possible.
