Double Top

In 2010 a 100 litre test brew kit was acquired from Muirhouse Brewery of Ilkeston. Using the experience and support of his many friends in the trade Wayne Cadman produced early brews for local beer festivals and his own ‘tap’ The Mallard. After little shy of 100 brews the step was taken to invest in a 2 1/2 barrel plant and in July 2015 capacity was doubled with the purchase of a 5 barrel plant from Stuart Bateman of Bateman's Brewery in Wainfleet. Double Top Brewery is based just a stones throw from the original Worksop and Retford Brewery in the Bracebridge area of town. Bringing commercial brewing back to the very part of Worksop where the industry had flourished for so many years. Indeed his own Nan had been a worker there in the packaging department.
